Regional Wines & Spirits was established here in Wellington in 1987 as a wholesale distributor of wines to restaurants.

It was founded by Grant Jones who had a driving passion for the product.

In 1990, a retail presence was established in the building we now occupy at the Basin Reserve, and beer and spirits were added to the product range.

Regional Wines & Spirits has become one of New Zealand’s largest single-shop liquor businesses.

It operates on a global basis via email and the internet.

Grant passed away in November 2004, but Regional Wines & Spirits continues his vision and passion with our exceptional range of wines, beers and spirits, our expertise and service.

Regional Wines & Spirits maintains its philosophy and policy of moderate and responsible enjoyment of alcoholic beverages through knowledge and education.

Since 1988, we have organised a comprehensive wine, beer and spirits tasting and educational program that runs nine months of the year.

The team here has extensive experience and passion for the product with several being involved in judging at national beer and wine competitions.

In addition, we benefit from several independent consultants who are involved with our educational programme and product assessment.

We were pleased to celebrate being 25 years old in 2012 and look forward to the next 25 years.
