Geoff
Griggs and the Regional beer crew had a
load of laughs at the annual Gisborne Gold Beer Options Game held at Firth Hall
on Wednesday evening. After a palate priming Gisborne Gold lager, the
participants were served six testing brews. The game was a very competitive one
and the final result was decided on the last question of the last round! In
first place was last year’s winner, ‘White
Rhino” with 16 points out of a maximum of 22. Well-done Kieren
Haslett-Moore and Co.! Runners-up was ‘”Seeing Pink Elephants” with 15 points and
third was “Garden Tools Gang” with
14 points. Last place was won (?) with 7 points by the well-named “Hufschmidt’s Kopfschmartz” who were
suitably dressed and won Best-Dressed prize. The Best Team Name was “Quantum of
Sobriety”.
