Chocolate is a fermented food with as much
variation and complexity as cheese, bread, wine or beer. For many chocolate is
a simple, cheap, relatively bland product, a situation that is not dissimilar
to how many treat beer. However there is so much more to chocolate than dairy
milk, white and dark. Jo Coffey of L'affaire au Chocolat in Berhampore imports some
of the best chocolates from some of the best producers in the world.
Chocolates that have flavours and aromas of smoke, fruit, spice, dark sugar,
roast, earth and caramel. Chocolates that have complexly structured flavours,
and most importantly chocolates that have a story. Join Jo Coffey and Regional
Beer Specialist Kieran Haslett-Moore for a tasting of these chocolates matched
with a range of fantastic beers. It will be a night of fermented food
and is sure to be a tasting to remember!
Both nights for the Chocolate and Beer Tasting are now booked out,
but we have a Reserves List in case there are cancellations. To go on the
Reserves List phone Ian on 385 6952 or email ian@regionalwines.co.nz
