So you think Riesling is too sweet for you aye? or too dry? Chances are, you've probably just had the wrong Riesling for your palate.
Riesling is awesome and comes in all styles from bone
dry to uber sweet. In fact, that is how we will lay the tasting out, yup, from super dry right through to the little sweetie dessert wines.
If you think you don't like Riesling
come and give it a second chance. If you already know that Riesling is
freakin' wicked, then come down and find a new Rielsing to satisfy your
wino itch. We will have a truck load open so don't be shy.
Riesling & Food

We love Riesling and we love food, so you guessed it, in a stroke of genius we decided to put the two together.
To show you just how versatile the grape is we will be matching Rieslings from dry to sweet with dishes from savoury to sweet. Sometimes like Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley opposites attract, so come down and find what you think is the best match.
At the end of it all you can vote for you favourite Riesling, your favourite dish and your favourite combo. We will collate the results and then the staff will sit down and polish off the combo that you thought was best. We will then post the winner on the website so you can say "yay I agree" or "boo, what the hell were they thinking".
Blind - Guess The Riesling

Ok smartie pants, so nearing the end of summer you are sure that you know all the Rieslings ever made and you are more than confident that you could pick them in a line up even if you didn't see the bottle. Well, here's your chance.
We will have some great Rieslings open for you to taste blind (for health and saftey reasons we will not be blind folding you, but we will be disguising the bottle), you will taste the wines and then be given a list of the wines in a random order, now you use your NZ Summer of Riesling knowledge to choose which wine is which.
We know there is a chance that just like in your school cert multi choice, you could come out on top when maybe you just guessed it all, so it's gotta be worth a crack.
At stake is the bragging rights of being the 2012 Regional Wines NZ Summer of Riesling uber Riesling guess winner. Yes, that's correct, we will paste your name all over our website, so that everyone knows you have the best nose and taste buds in the business.
This could be the start of something big, before long you could have a group of German Riesling Scouts knocking at your door asking you to speak at Riesling conferences in Germany all expenses paid.
