Whisky Tastings

Edradour ‘Ibisco’

Monday 20th February, 6.00pm start, Cost $60.00 pp Limit 24 places. Upstairs Tasting Room, Regional Wines and Spirits. Ph Ian on ph 385 6952 to register your interest. Ballot closes Friday 17th February.

Edradour holds the proud distinction of being the smallest distillery in Scotland and are also the last original 'farm' distillery in Perthshire.

For such a small distillery their whiskies are packed with flavour and the Ibisco (Ibisco refers to the Victorian style glass decanter that the whisky is presented in) is no exception.

For this tasting we have assembled six individual barrel bottlings, of this marvellous, cask strength whisky complimented by Daniel’s mystery bottle. As these whiskies have been assembled over some time, with the help of some of our dedicated whisky fans, this tasting is a one-off.

We are very conscious of the high demand for places this tasting will generate. As there is only one bottle of each, apart from the current batch, we cannot repeat the evening., To be as fair as possible and give every interested person an equal chance to attend we are running a ballot for places. If you would like to attend we ask you to register your name (two places max) with Ian. On Friday 17th February we will draw names at random and advise the attendees. Good luck!

Springbank With Ranald Watson

Monday 27th February, 6.00pm start, Cost $60.00 pp Limit 27 places. Upstairs Tasting Romm, Regional Wines. Bookings with Ian ph 385 6952

Springbank; the oldest independent distillery in Scotland, voted ‘Distillery of the Year, 2010’ by Whisky Magazine.

Springbank; the only distillery to carry out all stages of production on site, from floor malting to bottling.

Springbank; the only distillery to have never chill-filtered their whisky, nor do they add colour to any of their single malts.

To use the term ‘icon’ and Springbank in the same sentence is no exaggeration. This marvellous distillery produces some of the most characterful, complex and elegant whiskies in all of Scotland.

For this tasting we are delighted to Ranald Watson, Springbank’s 2IC, presenting whiskies that are new to us here (and not shown at Dramfest). There will be a Longrow Wine Cask finish , the ‘Rundlets and Kildikens’(a new, not yet released, small cask bottling) the third release of the 12yo cask strength, plus the 10yo, 15yo and the highlight will be the magnificent, yet to be released 21yo.

Don’t miss this.

KIERAN

I'm off to the bach for New Year. Outlook is wet but after the weather we had for Christmas I'm sure the gardens need it.
