The Bowmore ‘Legend’ 40.0% carries no indication of age, but is reckoned to be between 5-10 years old, with 8 years being the informed number. It definitely possesses the hallmark smokiness and citrus aspects, along with the signature sweetness of all Bowmore single malts. Its relative youth means that it is a little lighter, and misses out on the more complex maturation elements and length of the older whiskies. In its favour are a brash freshness, a firm individuality, and of course a most favourable price. RC Nov 09

Nose Peaty, smoky, very appetising.
Palate Light but textured.
Finish Sweet, then salty.
