A number of magnum bottles have been given away to attendees at
wine tastings in the last few weeks. Michael George
will receive a 1.5 Litre of the International Wine Competition trophy winner,
the CJ Pask ‘Declaration’ Cabernet/Merlot Malbec 2005 for ordering at our
tasting with Kate Radburnd. A number of wines looked particularly impressive,
including the ‘Gimblett Gravels’ Chardonnay 2007 and Cabernet/Merlot/Malbec
2007. Among the top-end wines, the
‘Declaration’ Chardonnay 2007 and Syrah 2007 were standouts. Click here to read Raymond’s report on the CJ
Pask tasting.
It was a special occasion with Malcolm Stopp from the Barossa Valley.
He gave away 1.5 Litre magnums of Peter Lehmann ‘Stonewell’ Shiraz 2002
(valued at over $200.00) to Paul Craig,
Wayne Sharman and Paul Starr. These lucky recipients no doubt had among
their orders some great value Barossa Shiraz 2008, ‘Mentor’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, ‘Stonewell’
Shiraz 2005 or Botrytis Semillon 2008.
