Craggy Range ‘Sluicings’ Bannockburn Pinot Noir 2007 (18.5/20) at 13.9% and also with 10 months in 36% new oak, from along the road from the ‘Calvert’ site, was excellently lifted with florals and wild herb aromas on a firm, crisp and tightly bound palate. Florals, cherry fruit and thyme were displayed with less sweetness, but good intensity. RC Oct 08
Deep rich red in colour. Brooding aromatics of black cherry, thyme, wild flowers, tar and smokey earth.
The palate is very fine in structure with graphite mineral-like tannins that build through the wine and coat the mouth. Flavours of black and red berries, mineral and thyme are complimented by floral notes. The wine finishes rich, lingering and flavour filled.
