Craggy Range ‘Noble 06’ Te Muna Road 2006 (18.5-/20) is 66% SB and 34% Riesling at 11.0% alc
and 101 g/l rs. 66% BF with 4 months in
seasoned oak, this was still very pale and youthful in appearance. The wine was showing delicacy of varietal
expression, with subtle savoury herb and tropical fruits, florals and apricots
from the botrytis, lovely honey with fresh acidity, in a tight, concentrated
and elegant style. This wine is
developing slowly and with a sense of grace.

11.0% alc, 101 g/L rs, 66% Sauvignon Blanc, 34% Riesling,
inoculated yeasts, fermented in 66% barrel, 34% tank, 4 months on light lees in
seasoned French oak. Light straw yellow
with a pale edge. Very fine, tight, but
intense nose of rich honey and marmalade aromas, florals and zest with considerable
apricotty botrytis also. Fully sweet,
this is initially lush and honied on palate, but quite soft and gentle in
texture. The palate has a dryness which
lends a degree of austerity and some grip.
The acidity is in the background and this results in a soft,
fullness. Varietal character secondary
to the whole and botrytis. 18.0-/20 RC May 07
66% Sauvignon Blanc, 34% Riesling
Alcohol 11%
Deep mellow gold in colour, with flecks of green. Fresh peach and citrus aromas dominate the nose, with an echo of buttered toast. The palate is a generous, silky medley of peach and grapefruit flavours, framed by the sensitive use of oak and clean cool acidity, leaving an invigorating, powerful finish.
