FORREST COLLECTION RIES NOBLE 05 375ML

Forrest Collection Ries Noble 05 375Ml

$39.95 $51.15 375 MLS
2005 Forrest Noble Riesling ‘John Forrest Collection’ is one of the greatest dessert wines made so far in New Zealand. It is simply divine, so fragrant, rich and satisfying yet fresh too, a stunning wine of the highest international standards, whether one is thinking of the Rheingau or Sauternes. Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth it. And it will cellar 10 years at least, maybe 20. GK March 09

Now showing the benefits of bottle development, the John Forrest ‘Collection’ Noble Riesling 2005 (19.0/20) was still extremely rich with complex toast and honey notes to the floral and mineral Riesling varietal fruit. The tightness of the wine with its freshness should see it develop another 3-5 years effortlessly.  RC Dec 08

9.0% alc, 220 g/L rs, fruit from the older soils of the Brancott Valley. 600 cases made. Released last year and re-released with this Collection issue. Full, even light golden yellow colour. This has developed much more complexity over the last 12 months, the bouquet showing honey, marmalade, toast and a little kerosene nuance. Very rich and sweet, yet not cloying in any way. Beautifully luscious and honied, the toasty/kero complexities are deepening. The acidity gives excellent freshness and provides an elegance and fineness to the wine. Wonderful succulent but refreshing wine that will develop further over the next 5 years easily. 19.5/20  RC July 07

9.0% alc., 220 g/L rs. 600 cases made. John Forrest is one of this country’s top botrytis wine style makers, consistently winning gold medals and trophies. This is his best yet. Absolutely world-class sweet wine, with hedonistic apricot, floral and citrussy fruit combined with decadent botrytis. The soft and unctuous textures are in perfect balance with the acidity to provide great poise. This is orgasmic stuff!  RC July 0620.0/20
