Hunters ‘Miru Miru’ Marlborough
Methode Traditionnelle NV (18.0+/20), at 12.5% alc, composed of 58% Chardonnay,
33% Pinot Noir and 9% Pinot Meunier, all Wairau Valley
sourced, with 6.8 g/l rs. Light golden
straw yellow with full mousse, this had an open and fresh bouquet with berryish
fruit hints and light, but definite yeasty autolysis aromas. Dry on palate with soft, fine effervescence,
this was crisp, clear and cuttingly refreshing, and the wine was one of
delicacy and softness, with very fine features.
Lighter autolysis, and very elegant with it. RC Apr 10
The fruit was gently pressed with low litres per tonne extraction. The
resultant juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks before undergoing a full malolactic fermentation.
The nose exhibits light yeasty characters with peach and citrus aromas. An elegant palate showing a blend of peach/citrus chardonnay components followed by the light berry fruits of the pinot noir. The mouth filling mousse completes the palate that is full and persistent.
