13.5% alc, fruit from near Hunting Hill vineyard, clone 777, vines 8 y.o., 100% destemmed, wild yeast, 12 months in 15-20% new French oak.  Pale ruby red with garnet hues, this has secondary savoury strawberry and cherry aromas with forest floor notes, quite solidly expressed.  Deceptively full and robust with fullish berry fruits, this is still fresh and lively with good acidity.  Though showing interest, this has an up-front, less complex Beaune-like style.  18.0-/20  RC July 10

Pale ruby red colour with some purple hues. Fresh, tight, cherryish nose with depth and brightness. Good depth on the palate with some concentration of bright, dark cherry flavours. Firmness of structure from decent tannin extraction. Moderate fruit sweetness to match, and a medium length finish. Clear-cut wine that will develop some interest. 17.5-/20  RC July 07
