Louis Roederer Champagne ‘Brut Premier’ NV (19.0-/20), at 12.0% alc, 30% Ch, 50% PN, 20%
PM, 36 months on lees. Bright pale straw
yellow with a hint of gold. This had a
full, robust nose based on Pinot depth, the fruit expressive in volume and
size, perfectly match by bready, yeast autolysis aromas. Dry on palate, yet with a succulent
fruitiness, appley and citrus notes showing alongside the bready autolysis
complexity. Wonderful acidity and
freshness, good mousse carrying through the palate. Full-bodied with a long finish. Tasting as if freshly landed. RC
