the southern Wairau
Valley, including
Fairhall Clone UCD5 fruit. Glacial soils
with high clay content. Fruit destemmed
and given a cold soak. Max. ferment
temp. 32º C, 11 months in 25% new French oak.
Deepish ruby red, full colour.
Full, fresh, bright cherry and berryish nose, vibrant with purity. Full, rich, juicy and plush palate, ripe
primary fruit expression, plumy . Quite
open and broad even, this has excellent concentration. Fruit a little linear, but the richness and
fine tannin extraction in good balance. My score 18.5+/20 RC Nov 07
