Mugnier Nuits-St-G Clos Des Fourches 06

Dark, deep, ruby red in colour, this is still tight and youthful on bouquet.  The fruit is pure dark berries with a hint of liquorice, pepper and spice from the oak, but the class of the fruit shines.  On palate, this has a silky texture and fine concentrated fruit core to balance the extraction.  Ripe dark fruits of cherries  and cherry brandy with liquorice pervade.  This will cellar another decade.  RC March 10
