Peregrine Pinot Noir 07

$39.70 750 MLS
The Peregrine winery draws fruit from the Cromwell Basin and the Gibbston Valley to make its superb Central Otago Pinot Noirs. From an extremely low yielding vintage, the 2007 shows a concentration and intensity seen only in exceptional years. Incredibly perfumed with aromas and flavours of dark cherries, plums, spices, mocha and thyme herb, this is silky smooth in texture, but carries great richness and weight, and has stunning length on palate. 13.5% alc., and matured 10 months in 35% new French oak, this will complete any meal of salmon, tuna, duck, turkey or pork. Awarded gold at the 2009 International Wine Challenge in London, and Five Stars in Cuisine magazine. We are proud to have Peregrine again as our prestige Pinot Noir in the Top 30.  Top 30 09

The Peregrine Pinot Noir 2007 (19.0-/20) was from a higher crop vintage, employing 80% Cromwell fruit and 20% Gibbston. Purple and youthful, this has concentrated fresh cherry-berry fruit, wonderfully bright, with all the structure and freshness for aging in an elegant style. RC Oct 08

The 2007 Peregrine Pinot Noir has great depth of colour. The nose has an intense perfume of mocha, candy, dark fruits along with charry oak. The palate is rich and dense with plums, spice and silky tannin. The finish is enticing and long.

2007 Peregrine Pinot Noir is only one of 10 wines to achieve Gold medal status for Pinot Noir at the 2009 International Wine Challenge (IWC) in London.
