Spade Oak Reserve Viognier 2009 (18.5+/20), 14.7% alc, 1.9 g/L rs, wild yeasts, aged 16 months in seasoned oak, 50% MLF.  Bright, light straw yellow with golden hues.  Very fresh, steely-edged nose with fine floral lift, perfumes, excellent intensity and depth.  Dry on palate, this combines an elegance of style with real richness and lusciousness of exotic apricotty fruit, the alcohol and acidity providing excellent proportion and depth.  A wine with great line and length, with the potential to develop well over the next 5 years.  150 cases made.  RC Sept 10
