Spade Oak Reserve Noble Viognier 2009 (19.0/20), 13.3% alc, 199 g/L rs, aged 14 months in seasoned oak, 20% MLF. Full, deep, light golden yellow in colour, this has a soft anf ull bouquet packed with ripe tropical and apricotty fruit aromas superbly intermixed with apricot and marmalade botrytis notes, overlaid with wild honey. Subtle volatile lift adds complexity here. Very sweet and luscious on palate, this is soft and richly textured, with density of decadent and opulent honied flavours along with exotic fruits. This is very lush, yet retains some style and restraint, preventing any cloying. 80 cases of 375 ml bottles made. RC Sept 10
