Vavasour Pinot Noir 08

Vavasour Awatere Valley Pinot Noir 2008 (18.5+/20), at 14.0% alc, based on 115, 777 and 10/5 clones, the wine aged for 9 months in new and 1 y.o. French barriques. Full, dark, deep purple hued red, this had a soft anf full, densely packed nose of dark cherries and black fruits. Full and lush on palate, this had a softness and rounded character that gave plumpness to the mouthfeel. The tannin structure sits under the fruit and provides good grip throughout the line of the wine.  RC Apr 10
