Vynfields Ries Dry 09

Kaye McAulay and John Bell are Riesling and Pinot Noir specialists with their organic Martinborough Terrace vineyard.  This Dry Riesling, at 13.5% alc is actually 20 g/l rs and off dry to taste, due to an information error from analysis where they were told it was 9 g/l rs!  Nevertheless, it's a gorgeous drop.  Very youthful pale straw in colour, the bouquet is tight with lime and lemon zest nuances along with mineral notes.  The sweetness level is certainly restrained by way of the good acidity and low pH.  Very fine in texture, the wine still coats the mouth with an untuous texture and the florals have hints of citrus and honey.  Beautifully long on the finish.  RC Feb 10
