Weinbach Alsace Pinot Blanc Reserve 2008 (17.5/20), at 13.5%, the fruit from Clos des Capucins and the foot of Altenbourg. Clear, pale straw yellow, this was very fresh and elegant, quite delicate in florals, stonefruits and minerals, lifted by a volatile component. Dryish on palate, this combined lush minerally fruit with crisp, mouthwatering acidity, but a little disturbed by the VA. RC Apr 10
