Far away from the oxidative wines with which the Savagnin grape variety is generally associated, this Cotes du Jura is a wine of great freshness, with lovely, airy white flowers notes. The palate is as elegant as the nose, nicely blending richness, roundness and freshness and offering a great aromatic presence with a floral and iodized structure.

Inspired by the elegant dry pink wines of Provence in southern Franc, this rose is made in Martinborough from one of New Zealand's top Pinot Noir producers, the Escarpment Vineyard.  It is dry with summer berry aromas and a lively lingering finish.

Apple Cider offers refreshment with easy drinkability, thanks to a traditionally made medium cider using a variety of Nelson-grown apples. Berry Cider marries our medium apple cider with a selection of berry fruit juices to create a refreshing and mouthwatering taste sensation. Mango + Lime Cider packs the sweetness of magdalena mango and a subtle zestiness of fresh lime juice into a juicy and delicious fruit cider with an incredible mouthfeel.

A big background hum of roasted malt complexity and a warm lingering bitterness. Smooth and full bodied with notes of rich raisin, caramel and boozy cherries. Pine, deep and resinous resound with a lingering pop of honey. Notes of spiced toffee and a sherry kiss, all reminiscent of dense, decadent fruit cake and dark crust magic. Made for this frostbitten weather in front of the fire, toes tucked into a pair of woolly socks.

With the rebirth of craft beer, the nation has gone hop troppo. Honeycone is mead for the terminally beer-struck, adding the familiar herbaceous notes of hops to a smooth, semi-sweet sparkling mead.

Highballer is mead gone mojito. Start with a rum and caramel base from Rewarewa honey, add the tang of fresh lime and finish off with a dash of mint. It’s brewed at a healthy 8%, so mind your Ps and Qs.

Our Rosso & Bianco wines have always been very special to us. Not only do they pay tribute to our family’s heritage, they are some of the first wines we ever created.

Our Red Blend is made from a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Petite Sirah from climatically diverse growing regions across California. This helps us achieve more complexity and intriguing nuances.

A unique parcel within Rippon, Emma’s Block faces eastward on the lakefront where ancient clay reefs run laterally through fine schist gravels. Emma’s Block is named after the great-great-great grandmother of the current generation of the Mills family, through whom the name entered into the family.

Cellaring is recommended. This wine will age gracefully for 10+ years.

Chardonnay lovers will be all over this wine made from hand picked grapes grown on the Heretaunga Plains in Hawke's Bay. Grapes were whole bunch pressed and
barrel fermented with wild yeasts, which provides rich depth of flavour and a smooth palate mouthfeel; Lees stirring enhances softness and builds structure and weight to this wine, which was aged for 11 months in barrel.

New wave Australian white which is a funky field blend of Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Kerner, which has deep aromatic flavours of Turkish Delight, lime zest and acidity to burn. This adds great length of flavour to every succulent sip. 

Le Petit Comptoir is a perfect bistro wine for sharing great moments amongst friends. This is a luminous Vin de France for drinking whilst young. Each bottle is hand-dipped in wax to seal it, in a mark of the care given to this production. 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, issued from sustainable viticulture. 

This cuvee is produced at 18000 bottles. Vinification Alcoholic and Malolactic fermentation take place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged and bottled the next spring to preserve the fruity characteristics. 

Tasting notes - Bright ruby color. Intense fruity nose, with hints of red fruits. Palate is elegant and round, with ripe tannins and a lingering finish. An easy drinking wine which will be appreciated in its early years. Pairs best with grilled meat, poultry, and cheese.

Akitu A2 Pinot Noir is an approachable and complex Pinot Noir made from three different Pinot clones which receive 35% whole bunch fermentation and a modest 7% new French oak in the maturation process. This makes for a smooth but subtle softness in a lush Pinot, which Akitu owner Andrew Donaldson suggests matching with Peking duck pancakes. Hear hear. Any duck would flatter this wine’s lush flavours, for that matter. Volumes: 1096 cases were produced and the wine was bottled on 19 March 2020.

The home of Akitu 

Andrew Donaldson planted his vineyard with 100% Pinot Noir in 2002 and has since developed three distinctive styles of wine from this great red grape variety. Two reds (Akitu A 1 and Akitu A2) lead the production while a Pinot Blanc is now part of the high quality stable of wines from this producer. 

Donaldson employs winemaker P J Charteris to make the wines.
