ELEPHANT HILL SYRAH STONE 17
Elephant Hill Winery is on the dramatic coast at Te Awanga in Hawke's Bay and its winemaking team use Syrah grown on the 20 hectares of land that the winery owns inland on the Gimblett Gravels. All grapes in this wine were hand harvested, hand sorted and fermented in small batches in a combination of open top oak cuves and stainless open
top fermenters with the inclusion of 10% whole bunches. All ferments were hand plunged and the wine was aged for 26 months in 30% new French oak.
Our team thinks this wine drinks beautifully now and it can definitely age for the long haul; nine to 10 years and then some.
