A Brief History of Gin with John Ridley - Wednesday 27th January, 6.30pm, $60pp
With 2020 behind us and the new year in full swing it's time to kick off our gin tasting program for 2021.
Join John Ridley as he explores the juniper world, this time with a tasting that will focus on a brief history of gin styles from genever to London dry to new world gin.
Is genever gin? Why is navy strength so strong? What is Old Tom? How did doctors come to be called quacks? This is sure to be an intriguing and informative tasting as we touch on many key points in gin's vibrant history.
During the tasting you will also construct amazing G&Ts with a focus on premium tonics and appropriate garnishes that highlight the unique botanicals of each gin, as we look into the unique history of that style.
