The Highland Park vertical with Daniel Bruce McLaren - Monday 21 October, 6pm, $65pp

Venue: Regional Wines tasting room, 15 Ellice Street, Wellington, 6011

We've sacrificed out usual tasting format to Odin himself and will be soaring on the wings of the eagle to the shores of Orkney for a vertical tasting of Highland Park

This distillery is renowned for its clean, sweet, fruity malt with a new make style that intermingles lifted citrus and gentle peat smoke. Trees have never established on Orkney due to the relentless sea spray meaning that Orcadian peat is formed from heather, and as a result, it's different to the other islands, more herbal and aromatic. The distillery also has a rather impressive wood regime with over 100,000 casks and no bourbon casks have been filled since 2004 - just oloroso from European and American oak.

Come and join Daniel as he puts the house style to the test, with a vertical of Highland park, plus a rather special mystery whisky.
