The 1980s were a tough time for whisky. The ‘Whisky Loch’ that had grown through the late 70s was a serious issue, and many distilleries closed. It wasn’t until the mid-1990s that grassroots began to appear, leading to, as some might claim, the beginning of the third ‘golden age’ of whisky.
Of course, this all coincides nicely with Daniel’s first tasting at Regional Wines in June 1995. Now, 30 years on, he is still going strong, and we are hoping you will join us to celebrate this remarkable achievement.
We’ll be opening a mixture of classics, throw-back drams, winners from Best of the Best, 30-year-olds, whiskies distilled in 1995, and a mystery that Daniel has, perhaps, chosen against his better judgement.
Here's the lineup…
