TAYLORS PORT VINTAGE 1994 750ML
This is a great wine from a great vintage and at 26 years of age, it is now approaching a drinking window where secondary complex flavours come into play, offering loads of interest and fun to vintage port lovers.
The 1994 Taylors Vintage Port received 100 points from the highly respected North American wine writer, James Suckling, who described it as deep crimson in colour (in its youth) with explosive fruitiness, a full body, well structured palate and rich flavours of blackberry, spice, fig and liquorice.
Vintage port is one of the great red wines of the world and one of those with the greatest ability to age for the very long term. Taylors is one of the top port producers and this 2003 Taylor's Vintage Port is a blockbuster with its deep purple colour, intense aromas of dark berry fruit and tight tannins providing outstanding structure and potential longevity.
Taylor's Port was founded in 1692 and has remained family owned and run throughout its long history. Its ports are recognised as benchmark styles with its vintage versions consistently among the highest ranked of all vintage ports produced.
This wine, like all Taylor's vintage ports, is made with grapes from three different vineyards; Quinta do Junco, Quinta de Terra Feita and Quinta de Vargellas.
