IL POGGIONE BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 17
This commanding and impressive 100% Sangiovese is made from hand picked grapes grown on old vines at between 150 and 450 metres above sea level which were fermented with wild yeasts and spent two weeks on grape skins to gain depth, concentration and complexity. The result is an impressive Tuscan red, which was aged for several years in French oak to add smooth structure, elegance and a a full, velvety body.
Brunello is both the name of this statuesque area and of the wines made from here, which encapsulate the best in the Sangiovese grape with layers of flavour, softness and approachability upon release and a great ability to cellar for the long haul.
