LATOUR-GIRAUD MEURSAULT 15/16

LATOUR-GIRAUD MEURSAULT 15/16

Meursualt is a commune in the Coté de Beaune wine region in Burgundy, known primarily for its high quality Chardonnay. These Chardonnay's tend to be rich and complex, owing to oak influence and the use of malolactic fermentation.

This wine comes from a blend of 5 different vineyards in the village of Meursault including Limozins and Vireuil. These are among the best non-premier cru in the village with an average vine age of 40 years. This wine is intended to represent the village as a whole, not any particular vineyard site. Winemaker Jeane-Pierre Latour utilises organic agriculture and natural winemaking techiques.

This is a stylish and powerful wine.  Layered and balanced with great acidity. Lemon-quince-pear fruit and minerality, spice and a whiff of smoke. A classic Meursault.
