WITTMANN RIESLING DRY 20
Outstanding dry Riesling with linear purity and depth thanks to its high but balanced acidity and ripe lime zest flavours.
The Wittmann family has been growing grapes and making wine in the small Rheinhessen village of Westhofen since 1663. Today, they cultivates 62 acres of in the rolling limestone hills in the southern part of the region, west of the Rhine River valley. They have been pioneers in producing full bodied, beautifully balanced dry wines and were early adopters of organic (1990) and biodynamic (2004) viticulture.
Riesling is the dominant grape variety on the family's estate, making up 65% of the vineyard. They also produce the three Pinot varieties; Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, as well as Silvaner with small quantities of Scheurebe, Chardonnay and other minor varieties.
