Talisker is famous for its intriguing distillation regime that involves high reflux, limited copper contact due to the use of worm tubs, small spirit stills, medium peat levels and a purifier pipe. The resulting new make mixes smoke, fruit, sulphur, salt and pepper and is matured in a variety of casks ranging from bourbon to sherry to fortified wine and recharred casks.
