Unit price perFrom Jules Taylor...
Forget what you think you know about Pinot Gris and try this tasty little treat. Jules conjures up some winemaker witchcraft to coax every last ounce of personality out of this subtle little grape. Modern clones combine with traditional wild ferments, barrel aging and lees stirring to supercharge the aromas and textures of this wine. The end result is a flavour-packed mouthful of peach and citrus with an elegant spicy dry finish: a wine that will keep everyone happy.
Bold, dry deliciousness and peachy perfection with just a hint of hint of spice come together in the perfect party pour.

Unit price perPinot Gris for the Exiled comes from the St Helena clone of Pinot gris grown on both Waiheke and Ponui Islands. Lightly crushed and pressed then settled in tank before being racked with light solids into tank for fermentation. A mixture of un-inoculated and cultured yeast ferments are used with each vineyard fermenting slowly until the desired balance of acid, tannin and sugar is reached. The wines are then chilled to below zero to stop the fermentation before blending, the blend is held at low temperatures in the cellar until bottling to retain as much of the natural carbon dioxide as possible.
Off-dry in style.

Unit price perThe Main Divide is the name of the Southern Alps in the South Island, which forms the backbone and divides each coast. It's also the name of a range of wines made by Pegasus Bay in North Canterbury, using 100% locally grown grapes.
The aim here is to make an Alsatian style of Pinot Gris. Grapes were picked at various stages of ripeness to create a wine with a broad flavour spectrum. All grapes were then fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve fruit aromas. The ferment was stopped to allow the wine to retain 10 grams per litre of residual sugar, creating an off dry, medium bodied, super flavoursome style of Pinot Gris.
The wine was matured for a short time on its yeast lees (sur lie) pre bottling.

Unit price perThis is a dry yet generous Pinot Gris from the Moutere Valley in Nelson. Fermented with wild yeast and fermented in neutral vessels (70% stainless steel, 30% aged oak). The nose is floral and mineral, with a delicate spiciness. The palate is rich and elegant with ginger and floral notes accentuating the pear fruit flavour.
The Charles Wiffen Pinot Gris, is grown in the “Home” Block, which surrounds the Homestead on the farm, which was built in 1882. The block is spur pruned, with a targeted yield of 9 tonnes to the hectare. The grapes are machine harvested in the cool of the morning, transported to the winery, where it is gently destemmed, pressed and clarified. The juice is then fermented with selected yeasts, with the fermentation stopped at the desired residual sugar content.
This estate grown Pinot Gris exhibits aromas of beurre bose pear, hazelnut and white lily with hints of meyer lemon and rosewater on the palate and is refreshingly textured.

Organic certification
The organic story at Seresin
One of the greatest things about Seresin Estate is the organic certification. This came relatively early on for Seresin, who was dismayed by the amount used and the impacts of man made chemicals, which were routinely and frequently sprayed on vines. His early adopting philosophy of organic certification paved a positive path for the integrity of the wines as well as leading others to follow suit.

Unit price perVINEYARD - The fruit from this wine was sourced from a single Waipara Valley vineyard. The fruit is left on the vine to ripen until the berries start to lose moisture and shrivel, concentrating the flavours and producing a rich style of Pinot Gris.
SOIL TYPE - Alluvial gravels
WINEMAKING - The fruit was hand-picked and meticulously hand sorted. The juice was fermented warm by indigenous yeasts in aged French oak barriques.
TASTING NOTES - Wonderfully fruited and fragrant, the bouquet shows mango, golden peach, poached pear and rich floral aromas, leading to a splendidly flavoursome palate offering opulent fruit flavours with spicy nuances, finishing long and delicious. Gorgeously styled with rich tones of ripe fruit intensity backed by juicy acidity. Sam Kim - Wine Orbit.
