With predominantly local hops and slightly above-average alcohol content, our Red IPA has the same confidence and individuality that characterise our own former colony. Tantalising passionfruit aromas give way to a delightful and unexpected combination of berries, tart ruby grapefruit and a comforting toasty malt on the palate, rounded off with a satisfying, sustained finish.

A mature beer for a mature pallet... Big toffee malt richness with citrus hop bite to back it up. Mmm tastes like the season we're in.

The 2023 vintage of our Flanders Red Baby Grand is a blend of a 2 year old puncheon and a 3 year old barrique. It's bursting with barrel fruit, lean malt weight and an edge of balsamic.

A balanced brew, malt and hops are beautifully married in this full-bodied, copper-red ale. Red Seal is generously hopped for a long, spicy finish. It is an excellent accompaniment to grilled meats and rich sauces.

Whale Played Red IPA is a West-coast-style pale ale with a rich juicy mouthfeel and delicious flavours and aromas of stone fruit, melons and resin.

A bold nectaron single hop red ale brought to life with Wilding Yeast harvested from the back-blocks of the Rangatikei by FrothTech. Tropical and stone fruit notes from Nectaron hops meet a rich malt base for a vibrant, clean, balanced finish with a touch of magic.

We’re all at sea for this edition of our hop forward, tattoo inspired ‘Toughie Sticker’ series. Devil to Pay Red IPA. Chest loads of Chinook, Citra, Centennial and Amarillo hops and a carefully selected malt grist creates a luscious rubescent beer awash with pine resin and pink grapefruit. Get inked!

DOUBLE RED IPA 7.5%

Rich, red and utterly hypnotic, this delicious beer is instantly gratifying with layered notes of toffee and caramel in every sip balanced by a punchy bitterness with stone fruit, orange blossom and pine aromatics from the Amarillo, Cascade, Simcoe & Citra hops. Well-rounded and sturdy but exceedingly drinkable, this double IPA is a vibrant panacea for dark days and long nights. Brewed for our friends at Little Beer Quarter to celebrate their 15th Birthday!
