Lovely dry, full bodied French Chardonnay, made by Cave de Lugny, a cooperative of over 250 winemakers in the Macon region in southern Burgundy. The Macon region is the warmest area of the world's most famous Chardonnay wine region and provides high quantities of grapes to make accessibly priced, very good quality dry whites like this one. 

Les Griottes is a perfect example of what makes good Beaujolais so popular. It's made from the youngest vines on the estate so it's all about fresh fruit flavours and juicy acidity. It is called Les Griottes because the bottom of the vineyard is lined with cherry, wild cherry and morello cherry (griotte) trees. 

It's a fruit driven Beaujolais with spicy intense cherry flavours, just like its name suggests.

This wine represents great value for money as it shows what good Beaujolais is about.

This is a great example of Chardonnay without the influence of oak. It remains smooth and full bodied with balance from crisp, fresh, food friendly acidity adding great depth and appeal to the refreshing flavours of green apple note on the nose and palate.

* Chablis is the northernmost wine region in Burgundy, which produces only Chardonnay. The cooler climate gives these wines crispness, acidity and a flintyje ne sais quo. 

Drinks beautifully with great seafood dishes and roast tender chicken. 

Lovely crisp structure and fleshy mouthfeel from a superb Chablis producer in a wine that reveals white fruit notes such as peach, and has a persistent mineral structure. In the mouth, a stony sensation which is so typical of Chablis makes this a round and pure wine.

Chablis is the northernmost wine region in Burgundy, which produces only Chardonnay. The cooler climate gives these wines crispness, acidity and a flinty minerality.

Domaine Denis Race is a small, family run winery in Chablis. This Chardonnay uses no oak, resulting in a focused and linear wine. Steel ageing results in a very pure expression of terroir. The nose is fresh and mineral, with grassy and citrus notes. On the palate there is a textural richness, which is balanced by citrussy acidity and savoury minerality.

This is one of the most sought after, cult Beaujolais and available on allocation only. Earthy, complex and limited - our allocation is 12 bottles only and that's it for 2024. 

Brother and sister, Mathieu and Camille Lapierre, are doing a tremendous job of keeping their fathers’ vision alive. Again, volumes aren’t huge and it’s a juggling act to share the different cuvees around, but these are cracking Beaujolais.

Jean Foillard is one of Beaujolais’ most renowned producers. Foillard’s wines are extremely complex and deep for an area known for light, juicy reds. This is a high quality, classic expression of the Morgon sub-region. The Classique comes from vines of 20-55 years old, grown on mostly granite solis. Fermented 100% whole bunch, so some carbonic influence, ferment in concrete, then 6-9 months in aged barrique.

A refreshing dry white made from Chardonnay grown in the Maconnais region of southern Burgundy. The grapes come from the historic "Les Charmes" vineyard, known for producing wines of great elegance and finesse. Ripe stone fruit flavours are balanced by an elegant mineral finish. This is perfect as an aperitif and works well with lighter foods. 

Deeply coloured, smooth and structured Gamay from Morgon in northern Beaujolais. Aromas and flavors of stone fruit and especially cherry are present, becoming kirsch as the wine ages. 

Chablis is one of the great white wine regions of the world in its northernmost location in Burgundy. This wine is a beautiful balanced expression of Chardonnay with fresh aromas of white flowers, brioche and leafy notes. The palate reveals power, richness and finness with mineral, mellowness and vivacious flavours of white peach, citrus and creamy mouthfeel in a complex dry white. 

Great value Pinot Noir from the Corgoloin village in the Bourgogne region. This is a fresh and fruity, medium-bodied wine. Aromas of fresh berries and subtle spice continue onto the palate, which is enhanced by vibrant acidity. Ageing has allowed the wine to soften and gain complexity.

An excellent example of the Côte de Nuits Villages appellation.

Domaine Paul et Marie Jacqueson is a family-run estate in Rully, Burgundy, known for producing elegant and balanced wines. Established in the 1940s, the domaine focuses on sustainable practices and meticulous vineyard care.

The Rully vineyards benefit from limestone and clay soils, ideal for Chardonnay. The vines, around 30 years old, bring depth and complexity to the wine.

The Rully Blanc offers aromas of ripe pear, white peach, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it's vibrant and fresh, with citrus, stone fruits, and a creamy texture, finishing with mineral-driven precision. Elegant and refined.

Very pretty pale golden yellow in colour with light greenish glints. Bright, luminous and limpid. The nose is young, fresh and vivacious in a whirlwind of floral, fruity scents. The taste is lively, pleasant and perfumed, revealing lemon and verbena on a fine mineral background. We discover the pleasure of drinking for sheer enjoyment. The finish is pleasant leaving the mouth tingling with an airy freshness.
