A Bit Mixed Up. Three beers | Two of each | All good. Sawmill Pilsner, India Pale Ale and eXtra Pale Ale.

Toasty aromas, rich malts, light caramel and chocolate flavours. Dark brown in colour with ruby highlights. Reserved hop presence, just enough bitterness to carry the malt. Residual sweetness, lingering mouthfeel.

6.5% ABV

A velvety milk stout, brewed with oats, organic cocoa powder and cocoa nibs. This decadent combination is apparent on both aroma and taste, with earthy cocoa and dark berryfruit leading into a creamy, sweet finish balanced with a touch of bitterness. 

An apt companion for the Winter season, we think that this beer will also make a perfect dessert with the addition of a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 

For this years release of our Chocolate Stout we've used cacao nibs and cocoa husks from Lucid Chocolatier for a smooth chocolate hit, and oats for velvety texture

Independence means thinking for ourselves and we value that in others. Making a beer without alcohol was a challenge we wanted to meet. We have an ethos of resourcefulness and creativity in how our brewery is run and all of that was needed in brewing this beer with aroma, great mouthfeel and balance. Biscuity pilsner malt and distinctive Motueka and Riwaka hops bringing aromas of lemon and lime. Nelson Sauvin for a tart gooseberry hit. Straw coloured appearance, brilliantly clear, with a long lasting white head. Crisp and bitter. Medium dry finish.

Pale golden colour with a foamy white head. Light biscuity malt notes carry the hops. A mix of American Citra and NZ Cascade hops give the beer a bright and vibrant citrus burst. Crisp and drinkable. Lower in alcohol than most IPAs.

A robust smooth porter with subtle roasted malts and aromas of dark fruit, toffee and berries.

A juicy IPA without the alcohol. Big tropical and citrus aromas from the locally grown hops.

A fruit punch of a beer with aromas of coconut, passionfruit and pineapple from Solero, Talus and Pacifica hops.

Aotearoa Series #61 | Brave Brewing Co IPA

The Sawmill Aotearoa series is about celebrating the best of New Zealand! 

This month we teamed up with Brave Brewing Co to celebrate what they do best - bold brilliant IPAs. It’s a meeting of minds, brewed with respect and a whole lot of hops. 

NZH-106, Nelson Sauvin and Kohatu hops give this IPA passionfruit, tropical and a winey aroma. A clean, crisp flavour with a full-bodied fruity finish.
