If there is one whisky we overlook it's Glenfiddich 12yr. We should remember the groundbreaking work the Grant family did in making Single Malt Scotch available to the world. If it wasn't for them you wouldn't be able to have a dram of your Adelphi and Signatory cask strength whiskies. We'll make no bones about this particular scotch - it is made in massive quantities, and is made to appeal to as many people as possible - by my calculation enough is made to sell 1600 bottles a minute. It is not overly peaty or smoky, rather it is one of the best balanced whiskies we sell. Even people who "don't like whisky"(yes they exist, somewhere) can enjoy a dram of Glenfiddich. The older expressions are well worth looking for as well - particularly the 15 and 21yr old. Nose: Just Juice Tropical, pear, Granny Smith apples, milk chocolate, cloves, toasted;cardamon. Palate: Sweet fruit, apple turnovers, butterscotch, clotted cream, caramel, nougat.; Finish:;A subtle hint of peat and oil, toast.

NOSE
Soft, fruity, balanced with sweet American oak notes.

Long fermentation times and slow distillation are the word at Aberfeldy and the resultant malt has a honeyed and almost waxy quality. This beauty has been finished in Madeira casks adding fresh citrus and delicate tones of baked fruits, rich spices and cinnamon.
Previously part of their travel retail offering, Oban's Little Bay has graduated to the core range. Glenfiddich IPA Experiment is the first Single Malt Scotch Whisky to be finished in casks that have contained India Pale Ale craft beer, brewed by a local Speyside brewery.
Malt Master Brian Kinsman has proven that traditional whisky casks can still be seasoned in a pioneering way. Collaborating with a local Speyside craft brewer, Brian created a bold and zesty IPA beer to imbue our rich oak casks with extra hoppy notes. The experiment resulted in the first single malt Scotch whisky ever finished in craft IPA casks.
Made from New Zealand malt, double distilled in copper pot stills and aged for 5 years in French oak ex white wine casks, which have been shaved, toasted and re-charred, then finished in ex-bourbon barrels. Sweet and malty aromas on the nose lead to primary tastes of candied orange peel and honeycomb on the palate. The finish in American oak lends notes of almonds, clove and vanilla. This mouth coating, easy drinking whisky surprises with the bourbon creaminess giving way to a long peppery dry finish.

Adelphi's Private stock is a blend of whiskies selected by one of Scotland's most famed independent bottlers. This is a smooth dram with plenty of honeyed sweetness from Spey and Highland malts, a touch of sea-side maritime notes from a coastal distillery and a gentle peat-fire smokyness in the background. A very traditional and old-fashioned flavoured blend that belongs in any whisky drinker's cupboard."
