The Irsai Oliver grape is a recent Hungarian cross - dating from the 1930s. Common in Hungary, it is rarely seen outside of eastern Europe. It makes fruit-forward wines with loads of tropical fruit flavours and a dry finish. Its a wine to be drunk young, while its fruit flavours are fresh and vibrant and is often mixed with soda water in Hungary for a refreshing mid-afternoon spritzer!
