Unit price perHot, dry, long and reliable. And that's just the vintage conditions in Hawke's Bay in 2020. This wine is a beautiful expression of a warm vintage with a long summer. Flavours here include blackberry, spice and liquorice which combine to produce a fruit dominant but complex wine. A small inclusion of the white variety Viognier gives the wine beautiful perfume and allows the wine more accessibility while young.

Unit price perThis is a juicy, medium-bodied Syrah. French oak imparts gentle vanilla and spice characteristics. On the nose, floral and dark fruit notes are balanced with a peppery touch. The palate is smooth and fruity, with balanced tannins and a lingering finish.

Unit price perSpicy Syrah with complex notes of cloves, black pepper and a note of cedar. This is a lovely medium bodied red made with grapes grown on the Woodthorpe Terraces and Bridge Pa Triangle. Grapes were all destemmed for fermentation and given extended maceration on skins before pressing into a combination of new and seasoned French oak for five months’ maturation. The wine was fined with egg whites before bottling and is dry, spicy and medium bodied.
Te Mata Estate is one of the pioneers of Syrah in New Zealand and one of Hawke's Bay's longest continually running wineries.

Unit price perA Brilliant example of what Syrah can do in Marlborough's cool climate from the up & coming duo, ex-Seresin Winemaker Nick Pett & Viticulturalist Jess.
From Seresin's Syrah vines, this wine is co-fermented with Viognier to express the best aromatic compounds of the Syrah.
The wine spends a period in old oak that helps to slowly oxygenate the wine adding texture to the wine & softening the tannin's on the palate, without lending much oak influence, emphasizing the fruit character of the wine .
The result is a concentrated entry of Raspberry fruit leading to stewed Tamarillo on the midpalate into delicate Chinese five spice & pink peppercorn.
2024 is a collectors vintage, & this wine is a reflection of that, really textural & approachable straight in to the glass, with a bit of decanting only helping it along the way. With that said this wine has all the potential to cellar for another 5-7 years to enjoy a really good balance between primary, secondary & tertiary characteristics.

Unit price perA big red with a big following thanks to its dense dark and impressive ripe black plummy flavours intermingled with spice in a deliciously full bodied, complex red wine from Waiheke Island's biggest wine producer.
The grapes in this wine come from six vineyards on the island. They are called Asylum, Big North, Garden Cove, Mad Mans, Niko Face and North 3; all small sites planted on extremely steep hillsides on a remote and beautiful corner of Waiheke Island. Each little vineyard was originally planted as an experiment to see how well grapes would fare here. The results speak for themselves; Man O' War Dreadnought Syrah is a commanding and powerful red from one of the warmest climates in New Zealand. It was fermented in French oak, 32% new and 68% seasoned and is named after the first in a line of early 20th Century battleships which was named Dreadnought.

Unit price perOne of the best Syrahs from Hawke's Bay, full of rich, dark blackberry flavours, red liquorice and a savoury finish; this wine is long and finely tuned without being heavy, dense or dry. And while it's impressive now, this is also a keeper from Smith & Sheth, a pair of wine loving business people whose aim is to make the best expression of grape and place. Hawke's Bay and Syrah are a match made in heaven.
$90.99
Unit price perOutstanding Hawke's Bay Syrah which was first made in the early 1990s from iron rich soils. This makes Bullnose one of the oldest Syrah brands in Hawke's Bay, named after one of the vineyards from which the wine is made (which, in turn, was named after the vineyard owners' love of old cars, particularly the pre 1928 Bullnose). The grapes come from two vineyards, Bullnose and Isosceles, both in the Bridge Pa Triangle; one of the warmer growing areas of Hawke's Bay, thanks to both soil and climate there.
Aging for 15 months in French oak, which provides its spicy notes and depth.
A beautiful wine for drinking now or for cellaring.
