Graham’s Late Bottled Vintage Port (LBV) is a superb wine, selected from the finest production of what was a spectacular year. Whereas Vintage Port spends two years in casks and then matures in bottle, LBV is matured in seasoned oak and then bottled at between four and six years of age; hence the term, ‘late bottled’. Its ageing process encourages the wine’s development, and as such, at the time of bottling it is ready to drink without the need for decanting.

Outstanding Barossa Valley fortified wine, matured in oak casks for several years to  allow the flavours to concentrate and develop complexity. This is a spicy, rich wine with dark fruit and pepper notes.

Rockford Wines' legacy

Rockford Wines is an icon itself and a relatively new one, established in 1971 by Robert O'Callaghan, who has forged a reputation for preserving winemaking tradition and saving many of the world's oldest grape vines from being pulled up in the Australian Government's vine pull schemes of the 1970s and 1980s.

The Rockford vintage shed houses equipment from 50 to 100 years ago, which was discarded by other wineries as modernisation took over.

The translucent copper coloured tone of the wine is matched by the beautiful soft nutty aromas gained by a full twenty years ageing in seasoned oak casks. Otima 20 years is rich and delicate, but never cloying; the tannins and acidity ensure balance and perfect length.

White port is one of our staff favourite drinks at Regional Wines and this one is a deliciously well balanced blend of white Portuguese grapes, Gouveio, Malvasia Fina, Moscatel Galego and Rabigato, often including other lesser known varieties as well. It is the Moscatel that expresses itself most in many white ports, with flavoursome hints of caramelised orange peel and zesty citrus sweetness. 

Deliciously good. Serve on ice or lightly chilled in a real glass. No thimbles, please.

Niepoort family were Port shippers of Dutch origin that have been making Port in the Douro Valley since 1842. It is a relatively small Port house but with a big reputation.

Aged in oak casks for 3.5 years. Amazingly smooth, fresh nutty and rounded on the palate.

Niepoort have been producing world-class port since 1842. This excellent 10 year old is full of deep, nutty flavours, hints of dried apricots and a wonderful richness. It spent 10 years ageing in small oak casks before being skilfully blended by the master blender.

The grapes used in the production of Dow’s Fine Ruby were a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties from the Douro Valley, such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cao. Dow’s Fine Ruby was aged in seasoned oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia for an average of 3 years, and bottled when ready to drink. Exuberant youthful fruit flavours make it perfect for informal drinking.

A fortified wine from Duriense, Northern Portugal made from an assemblage of grapes including Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca. As a tawny, it has been aged in oak oxidatively and will show the sumptuous dried fruit flavours that this creates.
