Unit price perPink champagne is one of our favourite things here at Regional Wines and this special bottle comes from Ruinart, one of the oldest champagne houses still in existence today. This gorgeous expression of pink champagne is made mostly from Pinot Noir, which makes up 55% of the blend, with the balance being 45% Chardonnay. Interestingly, nearly 20% of the Pinot Noir was vinified as red wine and blended into this complex, sensationally savoury style of wine.
It is a multi vintage blend with between 20 to 25% overall from reserve wines made in the previous two vintages and blended with grapes from the current harvest. Complex flavours develop in these older wines while the retention of freshness is retained both by the high percentage of new wines and also the lees aging in bottle while the champagne is on tirage, following its second fermentation. It's a complex process, which translates in the flavours of great champagnes, such as this one.
Most of the grapes in this wine and those in all Ruinart champagnes are grown in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims terroirs in Champagne.
* The House of Ruinart was first established in the Champagne region in 1729 and was inspired by a monk.

The Big Sky story
Jeremy Corban and Katherine Jacobs founded Big Sky Wines in the Te Muna Valley, Martinborough, in 2005. They have since expanded their small vineyard, which is predominantly planted in Pinot Noir and also has a little Sauvignon Blanc, which they give extra textural complexity to with a little time in old oak on lees.

Unit price perTasting Note: Our Single Malt Whisky is crafted to highlight six malts, as opposed to the traditional one or two, providing a richer and more expressive flavour, full of distinct regional character. Matured predominantly in toasted and charred Australian apera casks, ex-bourbon and our own 36-month air-dried ex-rye casks this whisky reveals fresh herbs, shortbread biscuits, raisins, toffee and dark chocolate on the nose with a luscious palate of sticky date pudding, amaretto and espresso.

Unit price perTasting Note: Our preference for malted rye over the far more commonly used unmalted rye affords this whisky a point of distinction evident upon the very first sip. A layered, aromatic spirit it offers notes of spiced custard, ginger, stone fruit and baked apple pie with a fresh herbal finish that lingers on the palate. We invite you to enjoy our Rye Malt Whisky in the spirit it was created: to be savoured in good company and served the way you like.

Unit price per"One of the smart purchases this year is the 2022 La Dame de Montrose, a second wine that would embarrass numerous classified growths. Based on 71% Merlot, the Dame sees a more reductive élevage than the grand vin, which is perfectly adapted to this variety. Opening to reveal aromas of sweet cassis, cherries and berries mingled with hints of violets, spices and orange zest, it's full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with a powerful but controlled profile."
William Kelley, March 2025, RobertParker.com
"The 2022 La Dame de Montrose has a very delineated bouquet that's more mineral-driven than previous vintages, featuring bright blackberry and boysenberry fruit tones. The palate is well balanced, fleshy and quite approachable, with smooth tannins and a lingering graphite-infused finish. It is one of the best second wines from Montrose in recent years."
Neal Martin, February 2025, Vinous.com
