Aged in three different wood types before bottling, Bushmills 16YO is a step up in terms of quality and complexity compared with their 10YO. A hint of forest fruits, black pepper and vanilla on the nose before a full, rich palate. This is an excellent after dinner dram - smooth and satisfying.
The Tyrconnell 16 Year Old is the highly anticipated limited release expression that builds on the legacy of the original incarnation of The Tyrconnell®. This is the result of sixteen years spent in bourbon barrels, and the first general release of an aged expression of this magnitude. The nose evokes citrus with underlying notes of oak, then the palate reveals a light and approachable taste with green fruits. The finale is subtly sweet with notes of oak and a smooth lingering finish.
This distinctive whiskey is the third expression of Athr? 14 year old single malt. It was matured for 10 years in ex bourbon American oak and then finished for 4 years in rare Tokaji sweet wine casks. These casks were sourced from a Hungarian vineyard originally planted in the 1720s for Catherine the Great. This was the same time Hazelwood House was built at Lough Gill, Co. Sligo.
Notes: green apples and pear. Long, subtle finish of butterscotch and tobacco.
Keshcoran takes its name from the mystical fairy mountain near Sligo, the reputed birth place of King Cormac, the first great High King of Ireland.
Blended by one of Scotland's most famous Master Blender's, Billy Walker, this new lineup of Irish whiskey is part of a limited edition series of whiskies selected for the Lough Gill distillery in Sligo. Annacoona has been aged for 14 years, the first 11 were in American oak casks, prior to a final 3 years in rich pedro ximenez and oloroso sherry casks. Billy describes the whisky as elegant and aromatic, with dried fruit, oranges and rich melted chocolate, remaining fresh and lively as well. The palate is unusually rich for an Irish malt, with salted caramel, dark forest fruits and spices that linger, becoming honeyed and again a combination of chocolate & citrus.
Another release of fantastic Irish single malt whiskey here from the Athr? range, this time titled Knocknarea, after the large hill on the west coast of Ireland in County Sligo. This particular expression was initially aged in American oak casks, before enjoying a finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks. Wonderfully well-presented, and the flavour lives up to that presentation!
Nose: Warming cedar and macadamia nut notes, with a touch of fresh linen along the way.
Palate: Classic sherried sweetness unfolds on the palate with zesty orange and dense raisin, plus softly toasty barley hints.
Finish: Almond, chocolate pears, lingering tobacco and peppercorn spiciness.

Unit price perInspired by the old ancient Blackpitts area just behind the new Teeling Whiskey Distillery based in Newmarket. This area was synonymous with many industries and in particular malting houses. Blackpitts was traditionally home to some of the largest barley malting houses in Ireland. By using smoke from peat to dry the barley during the malting process, the resulting peated malt produces a distinctive smoky taste profile which is the signature of a Peated Single Malt.
However, what makes Teeling Blackpitts so unique is the triple distillation process, which reduces some of the medicinal character you would get from a traditional Scottish Peated Single Malt and allows the more barbeque smoke characteristic to shine. This is then combined with signature Teeling innovative cask maturation using both ex-bourbon and ex-Sauternes white wine casks, which is bottled at 46% with no chill filtration to produce a truly different and unique expression of Teeling and Irish Whiskey. The inspiration for the use of these casks came from a previous bottling of Teeling 24-Year-Old Single Malt which was honoured as the “World’s Best Single Malt” in 2019 at the World Whiskies Awards.
Tasting Notes
An inviting nose where barbeque smoke and cloves are intermingled with fresh notes of butterscotch and orange peel.
On the palate, a fascinating blend of Applewood smoke, honey and all spice are married with stewed pears and fresh grilled pineapple. This whiskey finishes with the return of a savoury smoke over a lingering wood undertone, which combines delightfully with notes of salted caramel.
An exquisite Irish whiskey, matured in a mixture of Oloroso Sherry and Bourbon casks, before a two year marrying period spent in Madeira casks. Produced in limited numbers, each bottle is numbered.
Nose: Rich toffee, honey, spiced fruit notes and dark mocha.
Palate: Chewy, dates, pecans, grapes and mango.
Finish: Sweet, syrupy pipe tobacco and mint.
Bushmills is a very traditional distillery and its rare to see a new expression, this was the first to appear for almost five years! Its a sweet and buttery dram with lots of vanilla and cream, as you?d expect from its maturation in bourbon casks, with lots of first-fill in the mix. An exceptionally smooth whiskey from Irelands oldest distillery. Triple-distilled and matured to perfection in bourbon casks, Red Bush is a well-rounded whiskey that is as versatile as it is balanced. For those seeking the smoothest of whiskies, Red Bush is perfect served straight up or with your favorite mixer.
