Tasting Notes

This is a wine with a deep colour, aromatically rich with predominant notes of ripe fruit, spices and vegetables. In the mouth it is well balanced and velvety with notes
Vinification

The grapes, previously destemmed, went through a low temperature pre-fermentative maceration for 24 hours. The alcoholic fermentation was done in small stainless vats with temperature control, not going over 27. ° Celsius for 12 days. The wine aged, partially, for 5 months in French and American oak barrels.
Viticulture - Density of 4.200 Plants/ha. Clay and limestone soils.

Made in the Valpolicella Classica region from a blend opf the traditional Veronese grapes: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. 

Medium intensity cherry red in the glass this opens with an intense bouquet of ripe cherry aromas. The palate is fresh with good acidity and soft and silky tannins. Cherries and red fruits are the dominant flavour bolstered by hints of oak.

Food pairing - Typically versatile and good throughout the meal; excellent with soups, pasta and risotto. Enhances both simple food and more complicated dishes based on red meat and moderately aged cheeses.

"A dark colour, captivating nose of blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry and a lush, profound palate of fruit. All of this revolves around a truly assertive Rhône style with abundant yet fine, supple tannins and good salinity."

Tasting Note: 100% Dolcetto from 30 year old vines. Ruby red colour, full and intense nose with florals and lifted red berries. Acidity gives definition, and the wine is appealingly fresh on the palate.

Shiraz Cabernet Blend

Deep crimson with ruby hues. Intensely perfumed aromas of raspberry, blackberry, black plum, violets and almond blossom, with nuances of bay leaf, vanilla pod, black pepper and dried herbs. The palate leads with dark forest fruits, supported by baking spice,  sage and Dutch cocoa, balanced by fine-grained tannins and refreshing acidity for a  long, lingering finish.

This cuvee takes its name from a small parcel of the Adrianna Vineyard that is completely covered with oval white stones and was the site of an ancient riverbed. The abundant stones provide optimal drainage and extreme temperatures. They absorb heat and moderate the nights, but also function like ice cubes after a very cold night. Stony soil Malbecs tend to be extremely aromatic, rich and luxurious, just like the River Malbec from Adrianna. This wine can be enjoyed young or aged for decades.

This wine is for us the most refined expression of Tenuta di Carleone. Driven by terroir and will age fantastically!

Guilhem Durand, together with his consultant Claude Gros (who looks after some of the best Domaines in the Languedoc) have really refined Chateau la Bastide into delicious wines of great value.


The 70-hectare vineyard is southeast facing on chalky clay soil with alluvial gravel covering much of the topsoil and large round stones covering the best vineyard area. 80% Syrah, Grenache and Carignan Vieilles Vignes (some up to 120 years old) at 38 hl/ha in the hands of Guilhem Durand make Chateau la Bastide a wonderful mouthful of extraordinary good value. All the wines are made and matured in a mixture of cement and stainless steel tanks.

100% Graciano

Grapes were selected from the best plots to make this wine. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 25-28 °C, with automated pumpover control to ensure that aromatic and colour compounds were extracted.

Great aromatic complexity and intensity. Outstanding notes of red and dark berries, chocolate and cream, together with toasty and balsamic notes, all of these well-integrated by their passage through barrels.

Tasty in the mouth, well-structured and powerful. The tannins are noble and mature, and the wine has is full bodied, providing a very full mouthfeel. Jammy notes with toasty and cocoa hints.

From Val do Salnes in Rias Baixas grown on Quartz Rich granite sandy soils & trained on traditional emparrada pergola's. on 20-25 year old vines. 

Fermented for 14 days in stainless steel. 

A brilliant expression of Rias Biaxas Albarino

Tasting Notes
This Albariño is a very lively pale gold, with green reflections. Pazo Cilleiro has an intense nose, with pronounced notes of citrus and white fruit (pears, apples and white peaches), as well as floral hints. The palate is vibrant and fresh, with the fruit from the nose filling the mouth. It has the typical intense texture of a well-grown Albariño, with a round, persistent and pleasantly refreshing finish.

Vineyards
The grapes are selected from small vineyards around the winery in Salnés Valley, which is the heart of Rias Baixas, along Spain’s northwest coast. The soil is granitic, rich in quartz, with a sandy texture, and the average age of the vines is between 20 to 25 years. The climate is Atlantic, with moderate temperatures and an abundance of rain.

Winemaking
The grapes were destemmed, gently pressed and then transferred to stainless steel vats, where they were fermented over 14 days. The finished wine rests in bottle for an average of two months before release.

La Grande Dame is one of the great champagnes and is a big, dry, toasty, full bodied wine, made from 90% Pinot Noir, which adds layers of savoury depths to this complex bubbly, and 10% Chardonnay. It is named in homage to the Grands Cru vineyards from which the grapes in this wine come, from Champagne villages Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Verzy and Verzenay and 47% Chardonnay from Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. 

Its name also pays homage to the Grande Dame of Champagne, the late widow Clicquot, whose main legacy is to have left both the brand and the region in better condition than she found them, mostly famously by inventing riddling; the turning of the bottle to remove the yeast sediment into its neck, prior to disgorgement. This resulted in higher quality, cleaner, fresher bubbles in both look and taste. Her quest was quality and she is widely credited with having raised it significantly in the Champagne region and in the bottles it produces.
