Unit price perWhite Stones Chardonnay comes from a select 27 rows within Block 1 of the Adrianna Vineyard. The name refers to the ground beneath the vines which is covered with gravelly oval white stones.
The Adrianna vineyard is located at an elevation of almost 5,000 feet in the Gualtallary sub-district of the Tupungato region. The rocky soil prevents deep root growth and allows for ideal drainage conditions. These are very poor soils where the vines are constantly in conditions of stress. Unit price perLocated in the far southerly growing region of Altamira en La Consulta, the Nicasia vineyard is the only planting of the special Catena Selection of Malbec cuttings in this traditional area for Malbec. La Consulta was Nicolás Catena’s father Domingo’s prefered Malbec location.
10% whole cluster and 90% whole berry fruit is hand-loaded into 225-500 liter new French oak barrels for a 100% barrel fermentation for a period of 17 days, allowing seamless oak integration. The fermentation temperature is kept low, extracting intense aromas, and the cap management is done by hand to ensure soft, gentle flavors and tannin extraction. Wild yeasts. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in barrel leaves considerable lees and sediment. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 24 months, followed by 24 months of aging in bottle before release.
“This is really complex and exotic with dark fruit, flowers and asphalt undertones. Full-bodied, soft and silky with a long and flavorful finish. A soft and sexy red. Drink now, but will improve with age.”

Unit price perIf you're a fan of dry white wine, try this sensational Spanish white from Telmo Rodriguez, one of the country's most revered winemakers for his role in reviving indigenous grapes and giving them a new lease of life with modern winemaking methods.
This is 80% Verdejo and 20% Viura with dry, crisp, delicious flavours of ripe lemons and oatmeal notes. It's made from organically grown bush vines from vines at 750 metres altitude in Rueda, 90 minutes' drive north west of Madrid, on the fringe of Toro DO. The climate here is continental with hot summers, cold winters and extreme temperature fluctuations. Rueda is a white wine only appellation and all grapes in this wine were hand picked into small baskets, then cool fermented in stainless steel with no additions - it's natural, but without the marketing noise - aside from a small touch of sulphur at bottling.
Basa is a not-so-fruity Rueda Verdejo with the Viura in the blend to add zest and length to the wine.
A gorgeous dry white - a must try.

Unit price perO Luar do Sil means: “The Reflection of the Moon on the river Sil” and the vineyards are located in the steep sided valley of the Sil river. This is 100% Godello and the grapes were harvested from two plots of granite soil near the Codos de Larouco.
Grapes are harvested by hand in the middle of September using 15kg crates. After destemming, they undergo a cold maceration below 8ºc to obtain the maximum expression of fruit. They are then pressed at low pressure and racked to remove the gross lees. The must is fermented using selected yeast for 14 days at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. After fermentation, the wine is kept of the fine lees for 6 months to gain richness, body and aromatic power, using batonage to redistribute the fine lees, after which it is naturally clarified.
Tasting Notes - A clean, bright colour with a glycerin rim in the glass. Subtly complex on the nose with white and wild flower notes. On the palate it shows great balance between fresh, green fruit and the ripeness of fine lees. Agreeable, complex and delicate with a predominating fruit and mineral sensation.
