MOUNT EDWARD CHARDONNAY CENTRAL OTAGO 19
Fabulously classic old school Chardonnay from a new world wine region; this lovely and way too drinkable dry white is full bodied, creamy and tastes like ripe grapefruit with a lemon zest-curd like acidity, adding edginess and depth of flavour that lingers in the memory.
It's made from certified organic vineyards and was fermented with native yeasts in old oak and left on decomposing yeast cells for 10 months followed by full malolactic fermentation and bottling with no filtration.
Mount Edward winery is located in Gibbston, 25 kilometres from Queenstown. Low yielding vineyards in the Central Otago region produced the fruit for this elegantly structured Chardonnay. Careful viticulture and a traditional approach to winemaking have been used to craft wine which reflects site and season with subtlety and finesse.
