SPADE OAK CHARDONNAY VOYSEY GISBORNE 19
Gisborne is the Chardonnay capital of New Zealand and has a long history of producing big, creamy, full bodied dry whites from this incredibly popular grape variety. Winemaker Steve Voysey makes this wine from a blend of grapes grown on Ormand, Saints, and Patutahi vineyards. It's also a blend of varieties, including 96% Chardonnay and 4% Viognier from the Spade Oak vineyard.
The Viognier was fermented with indigenous yeasts in barrel, which adds richness to the wine, which spent six months on lees and 50% of the wine goes through malolactic fermentation to add further body and appealing buttery flavours.
