Grapes grown at Te Awanga, south of Napier, give this impressive Syrah its bold and powerful with aromas of ripe blueberries, licorice and black pepper. It’s a velvety, smooth, silky and full bodied Syrah now and will age superbly for up to 10 years, potentially even longer.

About Clearview Estate

Clearview Estate is one of oldest, most well established wineries in Hawke's Bay and is situated on the Te Awanga Coast, south of Napier. It's a great place to visit for tastings at the cellar door as well as lunch in the dappled shade of the established courtyard area. The winery was founded by Tim Turvey, winemaker and co-owner. The current winemaker is the multi talented Matt Kirby.

A fortified wine from Duriense, Northern Portugal made from an assemblage of grapes including Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca. As a tawny, it has been aged in oak oxidatively and will show the sumptuous dried fruit flavours that this creates.

Emerson's - One for the hopheads, Bird Dog is full of intense flavours courtesy of American hops to deliver a smooth, resiny beer. Tropical fruit dominates the flavour with subtle fresh squeezed orange with a hint of pine thrown in. Given the name, the astute drinker will note a gratifying absence of any avian or canine aftertaste.

7.0% ABV.

Scoundrels and Rogues - Sometimes, bigger is better.  Made by the most irrepressible Scoundrels and Rogues in North Canterbury, this Pear cider was made from the contents of only a few pear trees, fermented in barrels, and then promptly forgotten about for six months.  It gives new meaning to the term rustic, as it's made in a very traditional French farmhouse style, with a strong pear character.  You may love it, you may hate it, but i'm not sure i'm too bothered either way.

This Pear cider is rustic and funky, but you'll get over it.

North End's interpretation of a traditional Gose combining mild lactic tartness , coriander spicing and a malt accenting salt character.

Tasting Notes

This pre-made bottled Bellini is made with sparkling wine and peach nectar. It has a wonderful bold flavour of peach, which is present on the nose and carries through on the palate, offering a soft creamy texture with the gentle fizz. The flavours are delightful on the taste buds and linger slightly. A delightful way to begin a meal.

Process

Grapes were machine pressed. The pressed juice was then chilled and allowed to clarify for 3 days. The clear juice was racked off lees and transferred to the fermentation tank. The lees were filtered and combined with the rest of the juice. The juice was warmed to 15 degrees celsius and yeast added. The ferment was complete after 17 days and kept at 17-18 degrees and allowed to warm to 20 degrees towards the end to ensure completeness. The base wine was then cold stabilised and filtered, now ready to be converted into a Bellini.

The no. 1 Hefe-Weißbier in Germany and one of the world’s favourites. 

Naturally cloudy and shining silky gold in the glass under a really strong head of foam. At the first mouthful this Weißbier classic has a mild aroma of banana. Finer palates detect a trace of mango and pineapple and the balance between sweet and bitter. 

Beer connoisseurs appreciate the fine note of yeast and the mild but sparkling mix of aromas. It is a typical beergarden beer, which brings people together all over the world.

THE STORY OF TROOPER Real ale fan and history aficionado Bruce Dickinson, Maiden's vocalist, played a major role in developing the unique flavour of the beer, entailing ongoing visits to Robinson’s brewery in Stockport. The Achel Extra Brown is finely pearly and has a modest aroma with sweet notes of caramel malt and a hint of vanilla.

The mouthfeel is soft and round and the alcohol is well hidden. The aftertaste is much less sweet than the taste suggests and ends in a light and pleasant bitterness.
