Unit price perTasting Note:
A pure and exact expression from these venerable vines in their 32nd season. Grown on free-draining alluvial soils, the fruit from this block yields a wine with characteristic delicacy and precision. Beguiling notes of elderflower, mint and kiwifruit waft over a palate that is perfectly poised; the balance of sugar and acid is so harmonious as to integrate both components into the wine in their entirety. Fresh, filigree, and weightless.
Introduction:
Commencing with meticulous site selection and vineyard design in 1991, Felton Road's story is one of refusal to compromise. A strict 100% estate policy with fully organic and biodynamic viticulture (BioGro and Demeter certified) ensures that our fruit arrives at the winery as pure as it can be, while our entire estate comes as close to true sustainability as is possible. A commitment to hands off winemaking: gravity flow; indigenous yeasts and malolactic; an avoidance of fining and filtration; all help preserve the wine's expression of its terroir. The result is Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir which accurately express the authenticity and complexity of our unique vineyards. Gareth King; Viticulturist, Blair Walter; Winemaker, Nigel Greening; Proprietor.
Vineyard & Viticulture:
Felton Road farms four properties totaling 34 ha in the Bannockburn subregion of Central Otago. Blocks 2 and 4 are located on gravel fans within the Elms Vineyard with deep soils of angular schist gravels. Meticulous summer management of a single vertical shoot positioned (VSP) canopy ensures even and early fruit maturity. Shoot thinning, shoot positioning, leaf plucking, bunch thinning and harvest are all carried out by hand to ensure optimum quality fruit. Cover crops are planted between rows to assist in vine balance and to improve soil health and general biodiversity.
Vintage:
Abundant rain in September and October replenished soil-water reserves. After a later than average budbreak, the vines grew well until a katabatic frost, the most extensive in twenty years, struck the vineyards on 3 November. Fortunately, losses were localised within vineyards and occurred early enough in the season for many vines to recover. A benign, settled period coincided with flowering and a successful fruit set did much to compensate for the damage from the frost. Summer saw even temperatures and a protracted dry period, which served to slow down ripening and concentrate flavours. After February finished with a warm flourish, the weather cooled distinctly, especially at night. Harvest was a game of patience, particularly for Riesling. The slow and measured conclusion of ripening has endowed the wines with an impressive breadth to complement their characteristic vibrancy.
Vinification:
Riesling from Block 4 of The Elms vineyard was carefully hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, settled for 5-7 days before racking, then fermented with indigenous yeasts. The 2 week fermentation was stopped by chilling when the optimal balance was achieved between the acidity, alcohol and residual sugar (56g/L). Careful winemaking with minimal processing highlights the crisp natural acidity and the Riesling characters are delicately poised in the low alcohol of 9.5%.

Unit price perLifted aromas of fresh cut culinary herbs, white flowers, lavender and lemon curd, with nuances of nutty spicy oak. As the wine opens, aromas of hazelnut, lilac, jasmine, white peach and orange blossom emerge. The palate is super intense and beautifully defined. Complex fruit aromas mingle with savoury depth, as the palate is driven by bright citrus line and length. The tightness and power to the finish is outstanding. There is a delightfully fine texture, beautiful acid thread and super fine phenolics on the finish. Power, intensity, elegance and grace. Cellar 6-12 years.
A cheeky ‘chilled red’. Born out of the heartbreaking 2023 vintage in Hawkes Bay, Franco is the lighter, textural iteration of our Howell Vineyard Bridge Pa Cabernet Franc.
Still wishing to support our growers and the region during this difficult time, yet understanding that our ‘house’ style of Cabernet Franc would not suffice, we decided to create a delicious, prettier, chilled version (12%) - ‘Franco’. Garnet in colour. Brimming with notes of earthy wild strawberries. The palate is highly textural, and soft, finishing with bucket loads of flavour and warmth. Serve chilled.
Howell Vineyard, Bridge Pa Hawkes Bay. Red metal soils, densly planted with 27 year old vines at 2315 vines /ha.
A very challenging season. A moderate spring and average temperatures for ripening. Several significant rain events occured toward the end of summer, and the wet conditions continued into Autumn.
The fruit was machine harvested and delivered to the winery. It was destemmed into a small open top fermenter. Once fermentation began, naturally, it was innoculated and plunged twice daily. After fermentation finished it remained on skins for a further week prior to being gently pressed off. It remained in both stainless steel and neutral oak for 8 months and was filtered prior to bottling. Bottled unfined.

All fruit is estate grown organically, with the majority of the clone being Mendoza. All our Chardonnay is hand harvested and whole-bunch pressed,
but they are lightly crushed first, this allows the juice to be extracted at very low pressures. Each parcel of fruit is kept separate and vinified and aged
individually. The juice is allowed to oxidise pre-ferment which makes the final wine more vibrant, long-lived and intensely flavoured as finished wine.
All parcels take most of the lees from pressing to barrel for wild fermentation and are aged in French oak with 25% being new. To keep the structure of
this wine, we allowed only 50% of the barrels to go through spontaneous malolactic fermentation, with no battonage. The total time in barrel is about
10 months before being combined into one blend in mid-February, The wine stays in stainless steel tank for 6 months on lees which allows for the acid
to become precisely defined and adds texture - then finished with no fining and only gentle filtration.
Wine
Green gold with silver flecks.
Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, grilled white stonefruits, chared applewood with underlying peach blossom and oystershell.
Fresh citrus dominates with crunchy nectarine, crystalized pineapple, sweet baking spice and a saline minerality in support. A fine acid structure is
coated with a silky texture to give a long complex finish.

Unit price perFounded in 1923, Cantina Settecani is a cooperative winery in the heart of the Castelvetro hills, bringing together over 200 growers. With deep roots in the Modenese countryside, Settecani has earned a reputation for crafting expressive, affordable Lambrusco wines that celebrate the diversity of local terroir. Their focus is primarily on Grasparossa di Castelvetro, the most structured and tannic of Lambrusco varieties.
The Tradizione Secco bottling is a classic expression: bold, dark purple with a creamy mousse, showcasing black cherry, ripe plum, and a hint of spice. Lambrusco Grasparossa delivers body and depth without sacrificing freshness. A perfect companion to Emilia’s rich cuisine.
The name Settecani translates to “Seven Dogs,” but the origin is pure local folklore. Legend has it that a priest, spotting seven inebriated men stumbling out of a tavern, jokingly declared: “They look like seven dogs!” (Sette cani!). The name stuck — first to the hamlet, then to the winery. Today, the coop remains proudly rooted in this community, producing deeply fruited wines like this one
O Luar do Sil means: “The Reflection of the Moon on the river Sil” and the vineyards are located in the steep sided valley of the Sil river. This is 100% Godello and the grapes were harvested from two plots of granite soil near the Codos de Larouco.
Grapes are harvested by hand in the middle of September using 15kg crates. After destemming, they undergo a cold maceration below 8ºc to obtain the maximum expression of fruit. They are then pressed at low pressure and racked to remove the gross lees. The must is fermented using selected yeast for 14 days at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. After fermentation, the wine is kept of the fine lees for 6 months to gain richness, body and aromatic power, using batonage to redistribute the fine lees, after which it is naturally clarified.
Tasting Notes - A clean, bright colour with a glycerin rim in the glass. Subtly complex on the nose with white and wild flower notes. On the palate it shows great balance between fresh, green fruit and the ripeness of fine lees. Agreeable, complex and delicate with a predominating fruit and mineral sensation.
