Site : "Les Marconnets" are located in the Northern hint of the Appelation Beaune 1er Cru. The name of this vineyard referred to the german tribe "Marcomans". Chanson owns 4 ha, i.e, 40% of the vineyard.

The Vintage 2022 : After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature between January and February, spring started with mild temperatures. A sequence of cold weather in April was followed by warm temperatures in May but the lack of water was very noticeable and could not be compensated by the rainy storms of June. Summer was marked by several and long heat waves and the storms of the end of August were most welcome. The harvest at Chanson started on August 30 with a team of 100 persons and ended on September 13. 2022 vintage was quite generous both in volume and quality and the red wines are generous and well-balanced with an outstanding crunchy fruit.

Tasting : Bright ruby color. Floral fragrances (peony) mixed with strawberry and rasperry jam aromas on a hint of minerality. Well-structured and muscular. Deep and dense texture. Food pairing : To be enjoyed with white or red meat, grilled or roasted, games and all sorts of cheeses especially all the cheeses produces in Burgundy (Epoisses, Langres, Citeaux, Ami du Chambertin).

Marcel Deiss 1er Cru Jeu des Verts 2021 is a French Alsace White wine blend made from Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, and Riesling grapes. The wine is made from a 1.5-hectare vineyard in Bergheim, Gruenspiel, France, that was planted between 1982 and 2002. The vineyard is located in a south-facing amphitheater that overlooks Ribeauvillé, and the wine is made using organic (Ecocert) and biodynamic (Demeter) methods. The grapes are macerated in stainless steel tanks for three weeks, then aged in old foudre for 12 months. The wine is unfined, unfiltered, and does not contain added SO2

Sangiovese blended with Merlot in a wine with a vibrant ruby colour and flavours of raspberries, cherries and spicy clove aromas.

Far away from the oxidative wines with which the Savagnin grape variety is generally associated, this Cotes du Jura is a wine of great freshness, with lovely, airy white flowers notes. The palate is as elegant as the nose, nicely blending richness, roundness and freshness and offering a great aromatic presence with a floral and iodized structure.

Tannat originates from the Madiran region of south-west France – the variety the so-called “French Paradox” is based on. Tannat is known for its huge colour and tannin concentration – in the Madiran region, this grape has the nickname of ‘la folle noir’ – literally ‘the crazy black grape’. It has a unique aroma and flavour profile – vibrant fruit alongside ‘earthy’ notes.

The colour of the wine is a rich and vibrant hue of real intensity. The nose has a totally unique fruit profile of blackberry/blueberry notes and an underlying earthiness with hints of fountain-pen ink and a seam of French oak. At present, the wine displays a youthful vibrancy – our experience is that with bottle age, the primary fruit gives way to earthiness and increased complexity.

There is a burst of black cherry fruit with a fresh lively mid-palate. The winemaking was directed towards softening the tannins to create mid-palate ‘flesh’ – tannins support rather than dominate the palate here. Acid has been managed to enhance the wines vibrancy and fruit.

This huge wine will work well with a wide range of red meat dishes. We expect it to last a very long time – 10+ years.

The commune of Savigny les Beaune is located above between Aloxe Corton and Pernand Vergelesses, in the north of the Côte de Beaune.

Savigny produces exclusively almost red wines (90%) under the village and premier cru appellations. The vineyard shows an east and north-east exposure and is situated between 220 and 360m. The Dominode vineyard is very suitable to Pinot Noir because the soil is deep and benefits for a large variety of fallen rocks from the top of the hill.

The grapes bear small little dark red berries. The bunches are destemmed; they macerate in open vats during 4 weeks helping the subtle terroir to reveal itself. After devatting, the wines are aged in oak barrels during 18 months.

Food pairing - roasted salmon, roasted chicken, grilled red meat : beef, lamb chops, osso bucco, stew, ragout, bœuf bourguignon, duck, partridge, quail, deer, young wild boar, teppanyaki beef, mashed potatoes with salted butter, Cîteaux, Mont d’Or.

This wine has aromas of cassis, ripe dark cherries, toasted spices, and savoury notes. The mid-palate shows fruit sweetness, while generous but fine-grained tannins contribute to a lingering elegant finish.

Vineyard 

Nautilus Clay Hills Vineyard is located on the ridge that divides the Brancott and Omaka Valleys within the Southern Valleys sub-region of Marlborough. The vineyard is divided into 6 discrete blocks with different aspects and slopes and an elevation between 100 and 130 m. Normally picked midway through the Pinot Noir harvest window this vineyard has rapidly become the cornerstone block for Nautilus Pinot Noir where the clay-based soils contribute a silken texture and fine-grained tannins. The vines are trained to a VSP trellis system with a mixture of cane and spur pruning, with a target yield of 1.5 - 2.0 kg per vine.

Classy unoaked Chardonnay from the Coteaux Lyonnais just north of the Rhone Valley and made by a well respected Rhone producer in the shape of Clusel Roch.

A bright fresh and energetic wine with citrus, white stone fruit and floral notes.

Arianna Occhipinti SP68 Bianco is a distinctive and complex white wine from Sicily.

 It is made from a blend of two native grape varieties: Albanello and Zibibbo. The grapes are handpicked from sustainably managed vineyards and fermented with natural yeasts. The resulting wine displays aromas of citrus, white flowers, and herbs, coupled with a minerality and saline character that is characteristic of the Sicilian terroir. It has a rich, full-bodied texture and a crisp acidity that balances out the wine's unique character. This wine pairs well with seafood, light pasta dishes, and fresh salads. It's a must-try for those who appreciate authentic and expressive wines.

Our Verdejo 100% signature wine is made from vineyards planted between 1962 and 1991.  These are family-owned and from selected old vineyards which allows us to blend the soil range complexity from the Appellation of Origin Rueda.

Vineyard: The soil, made up of round pebble layers, low in organic matter, develops some limestone outcrops on the higher levels. The local climate, continental with Atlantic influence, forces the vine roots to go deep in search of water.

Wine making process: Must ferments in stainless steel, concrete and older wooden vats. After fermentation, the wine rests on its lees for four months. This blend is what makes our wine José Pariente Verdejo unique.

Vintage: The year 2020 was defined by mild temperatures in winter and summer, without extreme temperatures and significant rainfalls in the spring. All these elements contributed to a slow and balanced ripering process. These conditions resulted into a vintage 2020 of great intensity and aromatic definition. Fresh fruit (remarkable citrus) and balsamic character (anise flavour and menthol) especially stand out.

Tasting: Brilliant straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. Complex, fresh, elegant and high intense aroma. It has a markedly fruity tone that spans the range of white fruits and citrus. There are also hints of fennel and garrigue on a balsamic aniseed ground. All of it over a mineral base.

On the palate: fresh fruity notes appear again. Unctuous and elegant, with a slight touch of bitterness at the end, typical of Verdejo, backed by a good acidity. Very good structure favours a lingering wine. Complex and intense aftertaste.

Food pairing: Suitable for appetizers, fish, seafood, pasta, rice and white meat. It also pairs well with smoked food, soft cheese and sausage specialties.

A very special Pinot Noir with layers of complexity, a silky texture and delicate concentrated red fruit, earth and spice flavours. This lovely wine is made in miniscule quantities from this country's smallest wine region, the Waitaki Valley, where the Clos Caroline Vineyard is situated. This stunning vineyard site is walled with (and full of) limestone; that mercurial rock that makes for extremely healthy Pinot Noir vines. 

This wine is a must try for Pinot Noir devotees. 

A superbly structured and beautifully velvet expression of Montepulciano that is overflowing with ripe plum flavours. New oak adds smoky sandalwood aromas and an elegant framework to this outstanding full bodied southern Italian red wine.
