This cheeky little French rose is a super fruity, medium dry pink wine made in Anjou in the Loire Valley in northern central France; one of that country's most diverse wine regions. 

It's made from two red grapes, Gamay and Grolleau; both well known for their soft, smooth and fruity style. 

This wine is super popular and has fruit sweetness and an off dry finish.

Fromm Winery produces low alcohol wines similar to German Rieslings from the Mosel/Saar/Ruwer region. These sweet wines have an amazing balance between acid and sugar. While they have high residual sugar, they never seem cloyingly sweet, and have alcohols as low as 7-8%.

This German style Marlborough Riesling offers bright green apple, citrus and mineral notes. The texture is oily and rich, with juicy, bright acidity bringing balance.

This winery makes a more diverse range of whites than most in Central Otago and the Pinot Gris is a light bodied, refreshing expression of this white grape from a cool climate. Spice, fresh fruit and a long finish all make this an extremely good quality Pinot Gris.

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are gently pressed into production to make this dry, medium bodied bubbly from Marlborough, which was fermented with wild yeasts and aged for 18 months in bottle on lees; the decomposing yeast cells following fermentation in the bottle. It contains 8.8 grams of residual sugar per litre and alcohol of 12.5% ABV, giving it a medium body and lovely balanced flavours. It’s made by Allan Scott and his winemaking team.

Winemaker David Clouston blended grapes from The Spring and Brookby Hill vineyards to make this full bodied, creamy, big Chardonnay, which was fermented using indigenous yeasts with lees stirring and full malolactic fermentation.

Maturation for 11 months aging in new and seasoned French oak barrels as well as a concrete egg adds smoothness and savoury flavours to this wine, which was bottled unfiltered.

The Charles Wiffen Pinot Gris, is grown in the “Home” Block, which surrounds the Homestead on the farm, which was built in 1882. The block is spur pruned, with a targeted yield of 9 tonnes to the hectare. The grapes are machine harvested in the cool of the morning, transported to the winery, where it is gently destemmed, pressed and clarified. The juice is then fermented with selected yeasts, with the fermentation stopped at the desired residual sugar content.

This estate grown Pinot Gris exhibits aromas of beurre bose pear, hazelnut and white lily with hints of meyer lemon and rosewater on the palate and is refreshingly textured.

The Bogle family are said to believe there is a phantom in the winery, hence the name of this big, buttery, full throttle Chardonnay from California. Smooth, dark and full bodied blend of four Portuguese red grape varieties. Castelão, Camarate, Tinta Miúda and Preto Martinho combine to make this wine rich, dark and fruity in flavour with its dry, spicy style. If you had to name a modern European country, Portugal may be one of the last places to spring to mind but wines like these highlight a new wave of wines now pouring out of this most western European country. And best of all, most of them are made using traditional, indigenous, little known grapes that have always grown in Portugal, such as the four that make up this beautiful robust, smooth, velvety red.

100% Malbec grown on shallow, alluvial, loam and clay-loam soils on sites that are over a 1000 metres above sea level in Lujan de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. 

This is all about juicy Argentine Malbec fruit that we all love so much and seems a given from this part of the world. Handpicked grapes are macerated for 10-15 days and then fermented cool prior to ageing in stainless steel and 15% French oak barriques for eight months.

Terrace Edge is a family owned wine brand in North Canterbury, which makes two styles of Riesling each year. This wine is the sweeter style, with 28 grams of residual sugar making it medium sweet in taste but nicely balanced by refreshing high acidity. 

It's a tasty, rich style of Riesling, hugely popular thanks to its lively fresh acidity and length of flavour. It is also certified organic.

Stone Paddock is a fleshy, dry, full bodied red, modelled on the best from Bordeaux. The blend is Merlot 73%, Cabernet Franc 14%, Cabernet Sauvignon 7.5% and Malbec 5% and is a prime example of great red wine made from the stony soils of Hawke’s Bay. Highly scented plum, blackberry and cassis aromas with hints of five spice, cedar and fine spicy oak. Dark fruit flavours of plum and blackberries are accentuated by lifted ripe aromas of spice and a beautifully balanced tannic structure. 

California Zin is one of the most satisfying big dark reds on the planet and Sebastiani's is a great example. It's dry, it's full bodied, it's spicy and it's rich in taste. What more could you ask for?

Sebastiani is a winery in Sonoma, founded by Italian immigrant Samuele Sebastiani in 1895, making cobblestones for San Francisco streets to save the money to build a winery. which became highly successful and remained in family hands until 2008 when Californian wine lover Bill Foley bought it to add to his large portfolio of companies.

This is a great full bodied, dry red with power and complexity at an affordable price. Next level Zin, here we come. 

Deep juicy red from the arid dry Alentejo region in the south of Portugal, a climate that Syrah loves and adores, giving its best depths of dark fruit flavours and smooth powerful tannins. This dry Portuguese red has body to burn and rich flavours to impress with hints of dried red berries, ripe plums and even notes of stewed fruit. 

This is massively good value for money and comes from the family owned Casa Santos Lima winery.

Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Touriga

Complex, savoury Pinotage from South Africa (home to this quirky red grape variety). This wine has red fruit flavours, savoury earthy notes and a charred taste on the finish. 

Chardonnay with bubbles combines two of the wine world's most popular things and this wine comes from Limoux in the southern French region of Languedoc. This is a fresh, crisp wine made using the Champagne method. Extended ageing on the lees adds toasted notes and a rich texture. This wine is exceptionally good for the price.
