It’s unwise to make sweeping generalisations about Phantom Lords. They’re not all sinister and evil. In fact, this one is quite the fun, fruity character. Brewed with a heady combo of Kohatu (NZ), and Mosaic (US) hops, Phantom Lord Hazy IPA is full of complex tropical flavours. Pineapple, lime, and stone fruit, meet mango, citrus and berries. Just watch out, at 6.66%, it does still have a bit of devil in it.

This Phantom Lord’s soul draws its spirit not from the Underworld, but California, USA. As a West Coast IPA, it’s absolutely brimming with Centennial, Simcoe, and Citra hops. We were going to stop adding them, but the devil on our shoulder told us to keep going. And he was right. The result has the classic, bitter bite you want, with big grapefruit, resinous pine, and passionfruit undertones. It’s our loudest Phantom Lord yet –– well, it is American.

This is the OG Phantom Lord that inspired the whole range. Proof that you can be dark, without being brooding. Sure, it’s demonically black, roasty and toasty, but it’s also full of the joys of life, thanks to an abomination of hops. We’ve kettle hopped, whirlpool hopped, and added a big dose of dry hop. It’s stout meets APA. Praise the Phantom Lord.

If you're looking for more complexity and a bit more personality, Canadian Club Classic 12-Year-Old is for you. With a more robust barley profile, it's a nice step up from 1858 or Reserve. This award-winning blended spirit is aged for 12 years in seasoned, char-treated oak bourbon barrels. The extra 6 years maturing in wood produces a darker spirit with more of the traditional characteristics of aged whiskies and a richer, more aromatic flavour.

Aroma - Soft, round, fully balanced and creamy. Fruity and firm
Taste - Delicate spiciness and creamy vanilla, in balance with rich wood and luxurious honey
Finish - Long and dry with enduring presence of butterscotch

Panhead - XPA means Extra Pale, a product of Quickchange's lighter malt base. That delicate colour though is undercut by a glorious hit of alpha oils from Mosaic, Galaxy and Citra hops. Sometimes you don't want your mouth flayed raw and your liver worked to a standstill. Sometimes a few luscious notes of mango, guava, lychee and pineapple can be just the thing.

4.6% ABV.

The best parcels of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot Bordeaux varietals are selected from the Gimblett Gravels Vineyard and blended to make the richly layered and precisely constructed ‘Sophia’.

Aroha is the Maori word for love and plenty of TLC has gone into tending the grapes that go into this full bodied Pinot Noir from the Te Muna Valley in Martinborough. 

This is the pinnacle Pinot Noir made by Craggy Range and represents a wine that can age superbly as well as drinking well now; preferably decanted. 

Red and black cherry flavours are supported by gentle smooth French oak ageing.

Le Sol means sunshine or soil, depending on which language you're talking - and either way, it is a lovely evocative description of one of the best Syrahs made in Hawke's Bay every year. This incredibly powerful wine is a beautiful spicy expression of the great Syrah grape from the Northern Rhone Valley. It was aged for 27 months in French oak barriques.
